Your Image Profile

What is your image profile? It is a head-to-toe analysis of various factors that will make you look your best. Everyone has their very own unique image profile. It consists of your fashion personality, the best colors for you as determined by color analysis, your face shape, and your body type. Fashion personality has to do with an attraction that we all have towards certain styles as opposed to others. It is discussed HERE.

Your Image Profile

Color Analysis is the process of determining the predominant undertones of color in a person’s skin, hair, and eyes. That way the choices that they make for clothing and makeup will harmonize with their natural undertones and coloring. Moreover, the result is that they will always look their best in those colors. How does color analysis work?

Your Image Profile through Color Analysis

All people belong to a cool or warm family. This means that they either have blue undertones (cool), or golden undertones (warm) in the skin hair, and eyes. Research at various universities has proven that this color theory applies 100% of the time. It is a scientific process based on the color spectrum. In 1666 Issac Newton observed that a prison separated a beam of light into a rainbow of colors. Therefore the color wheel was invented and the spectrum contains red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet.

For centuries portrait artists have known that to accurately duplicate skin tones they need to add either golden tones or blue tones to the paint. However, this personal color pigmentation is the reason for many wardrobe mistakes. For instance, the fact that so many clothes are left in the closet while a certain few are worn quite often is usually because those few are the correct colors. They harmonize with and flatter your personal coloring. When wearing the correct colors your skin takes on a healthy glow your eyes sparkle, lines wrinkles and blemishes are even less noticeable. You also will save time while shopping because you will no longer be indecisive. You also save money by avoiding wrong choices for your wardrobe. Color Analysis can be done by a certified image consultant.

Your Image Profile by Facial Shape

Your Image Profile

There are five face shapes. They are heart-shaped, oval-shaped, rectangular-shaped, round-shaped, and square-shaped. Knowing the shape of your face will help you choose the earrings, eyeglass frames, and hairstyles that will flatter your face. Below is a description of each face shape, and examples of how this knowledge can be applied to choices of hairstyles, eyeglasses, and earrings.

Heart-shaped face

The heart-shaped face is characterized by a wide forehead and high cheekbones that taper to a narrower chin. The best hairstyles will minimize the width across the forehead but add fullness at the jawline. Styles that are shorter than the jawline should generally be avoided. As for eyeglasses, fully rounded or oval shapes that extend past the cheekbones are the best. Earring shapes that are rounded or irregular (like teardrops) giving width to the jawline look great on someone with a heart-shaped face.

Oval-shaped face

The oval-shaped face is actually considered to be the perfect face shape. It is wider at the forehead than at the chin, but there’s a graceful tapering from cheeks to chin. Shoulder-length hair is best, but any style that adds width to the face is flattering. Eyeglass frames that are no wider than the widest part of the face will accentuate the best features. Earrings that have curves and angles look amazing on someone with an oval-shaped face.

Rectangular-shaped face

The rectangular-shaped face is longer than it is wide and it is also about the same width across the forehead cheekbones and jawline. So the best hairstyle for a rectangular face would one that includes bangs. This will shorten the face, and add width to the cheekbones. Styles that add height to the top of the head should generally be avoided. Eyeglass shapes that are round or oval and then extend past the cheekbones work very well so as to diminish the width of the jawline. The best earring shapes are wide earrings in round square or even stand shapes.

Round-shaped face

The round-shaped face is almost as wide as it is long. Its greatest width is across the cheeks and they are well-defined. Therefore the best hairstyle for a round face would be long and layered, or short styles that give a little height to the face but no extra width. The best eyeglass shapes are angular or square and don’t extend too far past the cheekbones. As for earring shapes, rectangular or long narrow shapes which lengthen the face look best.

Square-shaped face

Last but not least is the square-shaped face. It has a forehead that’s about the same width as the cheekbones. The best hairstyles for a square-shaped face will lengthen the face and add fullness on top. The best eyeglass styles are usually round or oval with frames that extend out past the cheekbones. That way the width of the jawline is diminished. The best earring shapes are curved and definitely longer than they are wide.
