The Four Body Types

A person’s image profile would not be complete without also knowing their body type. This is such a key component for always having that put-together look. There are four body types, A, G, P, and T. These body types are based on the Endocrine system, and dependent on the gland that is most dominant: Adrenal, Gonadal, Pituitary, or Thyroid. Dressing according to your body type will always enhance your appearance.

The Four Body Types

So much damage has been done over the years by the misconception that there is one perfect body shape. Scientific research has proven that this is not true. However, many still strive to attain it. Current surveys show that a large percentage of men and women are unhappy with their bodies. As was mentioned before, body types are based on the Endocrine system.

A body type cannot be changed by means of diet or exercise. In that way, it is different from a person’s figure. Once you know your body type, it can help you to find the best eating plan for you. It can also help you to not only lose weight but also to build muscle. In addition, knowing your body type will give you an understanding of why you are built the way you are. Lastly, it will also help you to look out for any potential health risks that are common. Below are the typical characteristics of each body type.

Body Types and the Endocrine System

Adrenal

A- Adrenal. Generally, this body type is characterized by broad shoulders and a tapered rather than a defined waist. Usually, weight is carried in the midsection. Therefore, as weight is gained it will show up in the stomach, midriff, and arms whereas the legs will always be slender.

Gonadal

G-Gonadal (O-Ovarian) In this type the lower torso is usually one to two sizes larger than the upper body. Weight gain tends to be in the rear and thighs. Saddlebags are common.

Pituitary

P-Pituitary (L-Liver) types are not as common. They tend to be slender with more of a childlike figure. They also usually have a “potbelly” even when they are not overweight.

Thyroid

T- Thyroid. This type will have the most balanced body. For women, they will usually have a well-defined waist with wide shoulders and rounded hips. They are usually fine-boned. When they gain weight it’s usually distributed quite evenly although affecting areas such as love handles, stomach, and thighs. However, they will still have a defined waistline. All of this is fascinating. There is a plethora of information from scientific research on the internet regarding this subject.

The Four Body Types- Swimsuit Edition

The Four Body Types

One of the most daunting shopping endeavors can be to find the right swimsuit. Knowing our body type can help greatly. Let’s take the A-type to start. A halter or asymmetrical neckline will make the shoulders look narrower as it breaks up the distance across the width. A suit providing ample support for the bust and perhaps minimizing it will also be best. The G-type wants to have a suit that will broaden the shoulders. Wide straps that sit on the shoulders will do just that. In addition, a swimsuit with a skirt can camouflage larger hips. The P-type wants to create curves. A sculpted waist using vertical color blocks curved at the waist will achieve that. The T-type can wear a variety of swimsuit styles. If weight has been gained around the middle, there are a variety of styles that will hide or minimize tummy bulge.
